History
Braeburn is a community of subdivisions in southwest Houston, Texas along Brays Bayou west of Hilcroft Avenue and south of the Sharpstown community. Braeburn Valley Sections I & II is part of the larger community of Braeburn but remains an independent neighborhood subdivision with our own Garden Club and Civic Association.
Mitchell Land Company, a Texas corporation, established Braeburn Valley Section I in 1954. Section I homes were built facing Braeburn Valley Drive, Valley View Lane, Old Haven Street, and Braes Bayou Drive. Section II was developed later with homes facing Nairn Street and the remainder of Braes Bayou Drive.

Braeburn Valley sections I & II is a deed-restricted community. The Braeburn Valley Garden Club was first organized in 1959. It was restructured in 1980 when the Civic Committee separated from the Garden Club – becoming the Civic Association in 2011. Today, the Garden Club and Civic Association collectively work to preserve the neighborhood's beauty. The Civic Association serves as the Homeowners Association, and the Garden Club is responsible for social events.
